GRADES 9 & 10
Information & Communication Technology BTT1O or 2O Students are introduced to the world of technology as it relates to the world of work & business. Digital literacy skills are a must-have in today's world. Highlights of the course include word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, presentation software, and website design.
Introduction to Business BBI1O or 2O Students are introduced to the functions of business, including accounting, marketing, human resources, finance and production. Ethics & social responsibility are also highlights of the course.
GRADES 11 & 12
Marketing BMI3C Students examine how trends, issues, global economic changes, and information technology influence consumer buying habits, and will engage in market research, develop marketing strategies, and produce a marketing plan for a product, service or event of their choice.
Entrepreneurship BDI3C As entrepreneurs, students will recognize opportunities, generate ideas, and organize resources to plan successful ventures, including preparing a business plan. They will develop the values, traits, and skills most often associated with successful entrepreneurs.
Accounting BAF3M or 4M Students will develop financial analysis and decision-making skills by learning fundamental accounting principles and working through the accounting cycle. Highlights also include the use of today's more popular accounting software programs and ethics in accounting.
International Business BBB4M Students will explore the economic relationships that Canada has developed with other nations, and the impact of these relationships on productivity, prices, and variety of goods. Career opportunities in the area of international business are also explored.
Business Management BOH4M Students will analyse the role of a leader in business, with a focus on decision making, management of group dynamics, workplace stress and conflict, motivation of employees, and planning. Effective business communication skills, ethics, and social responsibility are also emphasized.
