OSSLT on March 30th on March 30th<p><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2">​Parents/Guardians and Students:</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2">Please be advised</span> of the <span class="ms-rteFontSize-2" style="line-height:107%;">altered school day on Thursday, March 30 to support students writing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT).</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2" style="line-height:107%;">All students who are writing the literacy test, as well as Lifeskills, Learning Centre and students who have Co-op Placements will have no change to their bus pick up times. The literacy test will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. therefore students should be in their classes prior to this time.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2" style="line-height:107%;">An additional transportation pick up has been arranged for bused students who are not writing the test. All morning pick up times will be 4 ¼ hours, that is 4 hours and 15 minutes later than their regular pick up times. Eg; if you are picked up at 7:45, your pick up time will be 12 noon.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2" style="line-height:107%;">All students will begin the afternoon schedule at 12:55 and all 4 classes will run with shortened class times.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2" style="line-height:107%;">If you have any questions in regards to these changes for Thursday, March 30, please contact the school.</span></p>
No breakfast?? Forgot your lunch??? breakfast?? Forgot your lunch??? <p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Here's some food for thought...</strong>We at GBDSS do not want any student to feel hungry! If you did not have time for breakfast or forgot to pack a lunch,<span style="text-decoration:underline;"> free food is available!!</span>  Please visit room 109 from 8:30-8:50 for breakfast, and 11:35-noon for lunch, daily.  Our caring staff will offer all students nutritious food.<br></p>
Grandparents Parenting Again Parenting Again<p>​The Grandparent Support Group Program was created in Simcoe County as a result of the growing number of Grandparents raising their grandchildren in our communities. In response to this need, Simcoe Community Services is offering a conference for Grandparents raising their Grandchildren and professionals supporting these families. The Grandparent Support System Program is proud to announce our upcoming conference, "Blossom Where You Are Planted". Under the revised program, students with a family income under $50,000 are eligible for free tuition.
